Main consequences of running away:

  • Sexual abuse and exploitation
With no money and nobody to turn to, young runaways are extremely vulnerable to adults who might try to exploit them.

  • Drugs and alcohol

Reasons of throwaway

There is going to be all kinds of reason as to why today’s society is like it is. And something that at least supports this way of life, if not created it, is the avoidance of emotional pain. In this instance, these external objects and even people, are being used to regulate how one feels and as soon as their affect wears off, another thing is needed to change how one feels
Also the main reason for throwing away is when the teenagers have problems with alcohol an especially drugs, for that reason they are obligate to leave home.

 Consequences
  • Greater risk of severe anxiety and depression, suicide, poor health and nutrition, and low self-esteem.
  • Increased likelihood of exchanging sex for food, clothing and shelter ( also known as "survival sex") or dealing drugs to meet basic needs. Forty percent of African American youth and 36 percent of Caucasian youth who experienced homelessness or life on the street sold drugs, primarily marijuana, for money.
